CORPORATE & FUNDRAISING CHALLENGES

IN THE ALPS

CHX CHALLENGE

UNFORGETTABLE, ACCESSIBLE, INSPIRING MOUNTAIN CHALLENGES

CHX Challenge organises bespoke corporate mountain challenges and charity fundraising events in the Alps. We design and deliver unique events of 3 to 7 nights, of varying levels of difficulty, depending upon what is right for you and your team. Basecamp is usually a luxury chalet in Chamonix, but challenges take place across France, Italy and Switzerland.

The aim is for everyone to challenge themselves and experience the wilderness of the mountains in an eye-catching, unique event that maximises fundraising. Focused on hiking trails and alpine ascents, no technical experience is necessary. All you need is a love of the outdoors, a degree of fitness and a sense of adventure as well as the energy and enthusiasm to raise money for charity.

Our aim is to escape the crowds in an environment where personal challenge, teamwork and charitable cause all combine for an unforgettable experience.

Our events are aimed at creating group connection and maximising fundraising. Over the past 5 years, CHX Challenge has facilitated events that have raised over £1.5 million for charity.

Accommodation

Our ‘basecamp’ is a luxury chalet, usually in the Chamonix valley.  Whether you are returning to the chalet every evening or simply there for the first and last night of a trip, this allows you a comfortable and relaxing experience.  In the chalet you will be fed by our fabulous chef who provides 3 meals a day.

For a ‘hut to hut’ trekking adventure, we stay in mountain refuges with dormitory style accommodation (but usually with a hot shower, 3 course meal and bar available!)

Food

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price of the trip. When in Chamonix it is cooked by our chef, who works closely with our resident nutritionist – Alison – to make sure all dietary needs are covered. In the mountain huts we buy lunches along the route, and breakfast and evening meals are all cooked for us in the refuge itself. Again we try to cater for dietary requirements by communicating with the refuge in advance so that they are aware of any special needs.

Please bring your own snacks and energy foods.

To prevent food waste, we prepare all of our meals for the number of people attending our events. We also make every effort to avoid single-use plastics at any point during our event.

Travel

Trains

While it may take a little longer, there is nothing quite like train travel across Europe where you can relax, get work done, or even sleep... and it is much better for the environment:

1. Daytime to Chamonix via Paris and St Gervais*

Take the Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord then transfer from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon. From Paris Gare de Lyon there is a high speed train to St. Gervais les Bains, with one change at Bellegarde.

2. Overnight to Chamonix via Paris and St Gervais*

Take the Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord then transfer from Gare du Nord to Gare d'Austerlitz. From Paris Gare d'Austerlitz there is the overnight Corail Lunéa to St. Gervais les Bains. Travelling in a couchette or bed gives you the option to leave Paris at night and arrive the next morning in St Gervais to take a train or a transfer to Chamonix.

*From St Gervais, there is a regular train service through the valley to Chamonix. There is also the option to arrange a transfer service for the final part of the journey, which could take you directly to the accommodation for your event.

Planes

You can travel to Chamonix via Geneva** from most major UK airports.

**We will provide details of our transfer partner, Chamonix Valley Transfers (CVT), on request. Transfers can be arranged from Geneva Airport directly to the accommodation for your event.

Automobiles

If you are coming out for your event as part of a group, there is always the option to get a few friends together, share the drive and maybe even some carpool karaoke. We can provide the address of your accommodation so you can arrive straight to the door.

For events based away from Chamonix, we can discuss transport options with you directly.
